Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Well, this is my last post for this year.  I've released my last mini cushion kit for 2013 too.  But never fear, there are going to be plenty more releases in 2014!!

So, now an update on my previous post.

The Beaney Exhibition
My Mini Exhibition of Mini Cushions is well under way at The Beaney museum in Canterbury and The World of Cross Stitching magazine will be featuring an article about it in the new year.  The Gift Shop of the museum is also stocking some of my kits from my Nutcracker range so maybe that will lead to more product placements next year.  Here is a photo of me standing proudly beside one of the two glass cabinets - my other photos have been saved for the magazine article.  The exhibition runs until around the 5th of Jan 2014.

Butterfly Study Mini Cushion
The Beaney museum not only runs art exhibitions but also has a static display of various artefacts, including mounted butterflies, and these butterflies inspired me to create a mini cushion for the exhibition, which is also available as a kit from my website.  It features patterns from the wings of butterflies, hairy caterpillars and a variety of complete butterflies.

Craft Fair
Unfortunately the fair in Ramsgate was a disaster!  The organisers had not advertised it and the venue was off the beaten track so we only had about 5 visitors!  Learnt my lesson there - enough said!

Beside the Seaside
With Christmas just around the corner I had a real change of direction in my designing and produced this Beside the Seaside mini cushion!  It was very strange working on a bright and Summery design when the weather outside is so wet and dreary.  But since launching this kit on my website in the week it has already proved a success with many orders received.  I think it may be because I've crammed so many beach-themed motifs into the one little mini cushion that there are so many details to see in it and it therefore makes the design an interesting one to stitch.

And finally....
2014 will see many more mini cushions being launched as kits and charts on a wide range of themes, with Traffic Signs and Dinosaurs just being two of those themes!  So all that's left for me to do is wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year and I'll look forward to keeping you informed about my cross stitch news in 2014.

  2. I have really been getting into beach themes. I think people just want to forget snow and think about fairer weather. Love all your cushions!
